I am so happy Creative Connection is happening in the OC today! I am also super excited to be one of the featured designer’s along with Katherine Elizabeth Photography and Jennifer Macy Florals. I had a fabulous time at two of the previous Creative Connection events in LA, seen here and here. I meet the lovely Brooke Atkinson, and Debbie Miller at the August event in LA, who will now be hosting Creative Connection OC, along with Heather Cereghino. Creative Connection LA August Meet-Up was delightful! Primary Petals arranged succulents filled in vintage glasses stacked on top of old library books. You can see all the lovely photos shot by Christina Dely at the event here. I somehow missed the portrait photographs, but I was caught opening a bottle of champagne and chatting on twitter.

It’s Friday! Just sorting through a few things this week in the studio, and came across this page I teared out of Lucky magazine, who knows how long ago… way before the days of Pinterest! It reminded me how excited I am the Rosebowl Flea Market is this Sunday! Hoping to collect more vintage materials and embellishments to use for K.Mala Collection. {Monday Inspiration}

Found these postcards on a recent trip to San Francisco at The Disney Family Museum, which I highly recommend a visit to if your in SF. They are by Disney artist Mary Blair, best known for her concept art in Cinderella, Peter Pan, and my fav Alice in Wonderland. Her whimsical style is also reflected in the attraction It’s a Small World at Disneyland. Have an inspiring monday!

A Holiday with Coco was a blog I designed for my younger sister Courtney, aka Coco, before her summer trip to Europe. Her itinerary included stops in France, Belgium, and England. Above is the header design, background stripes, and original watercolor artwork painted by me for the blog. Coco loves the shabby chic look, which includes lots of lace textures and pops of pink.

Coco studied photography while she was abroad and below is just a handful of her beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing Courtney!

Creative Connection LA

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending Creative Connection LA. I am always looking for new opportunities to meet other creative ladies like myself, who love creating, blogging, mingling, drinking, eating, photography, and designing. And this was it! It all started when I came across a tweet by Elise Ostermann, the creative founder behind Creative Connection USA. Elise encouraged me to come up to LA for the event, and encouragement is just what this creative group is all about.

Although there is an OC chapter in the making,  I made the trek from the OC through the traffic to LA, and I am so glad I did! Each month they feature a few creatives, this month it was Becca Rillo, whom I have to thank for my lovely new headshot and the above photos, Shannon Labare designed the cute name tags and collateral, and Emily Sutherland was the amazing stylist of the event and the new leading lady of Creative Connection LA.  Trendy Upper West in Santa Monica hosted the event that ended, for me, with delectable donuts dipped in chocolate sauce(photo by Melissa Dell), yum! I feel inspired by all the lovely ladies I met and can’t wait for the next meet-up!
